For those wondering how it works, I believe the 'magical' light-field approach actually means the pupil is relayed through microlenslet arrays. Concept is: use the 2-D array of camera pixels to sample a 3-D field. The camera array only senses amplitude distribution in 2-D so the 3-D scene information must be encoded into a 2-D spatial distribution. Space-bandwidth is sacrificed, which means several pixels dedicated to what otherwise is a single point in order to acquire the encoded depth. The concept has come of age with processing (and hig-quality microlenslet arrays) since the acquired image is a mess till you process it into a mesh of 2-D images separated along the z-axis. Simple, right?

Anyway, they are at NAB as well. I think I'll send a recce party to see if they are friend or foe.
