Intel Acquires Replay Technologies for Immersive Sports

Check out these guys. This is a great example of over-hyping somthing. The FreeD demo in the link  is totally deceiving.  Their system can only jump from one extreme position to another (11.25 degrees each with 32 cameras).  The demo has been embellished in After Effects with segmented imagery warped to give the impression of in-betweens to smooth out the abrupt jump from one position to another.  To top that off they have blurred the backgrounds.  All this is a post process.  In real-time they are simply dissolving from one view to another very quickly moving in a circle.  5K cameras lets them zoom into a 2K resolution.  Big deal!  To me the take away is that if you are Intel it is Ok to exaggerate your demo.
